On January 31, 2013, 4:30 – 6:30 p.m., Dr. David Lohman, one of the authors of the Cognitive Abilities Test (CogAT), will explore the use of the CogAT (New Form 7) for the identification of gifted students, including traditionally underrepresented students. Considering the use of the CogAT as one of the criteria for identification of gifted learners encourages review and greater understanding of local identification policy.
The cost to register a computer for the Webinar is $60. Any number of interested individuals may participate through that one registered computer (an AEA can register, for example, and project the Webinar for multiple participants).
If the date or time is not convenient, participants can order a DVD of the Webinar for the same $60.
Participants may register for both the Webinar and the DVD for $70. While the DVD may be shared, the contents may not be copied.
Participants may enroll for an optional credit hour associated with the Webinar. The credit, 7P:194:WKA, will provide one hour in the Administrative strand for the State of Iowa Talented and Gifted Endorsement. The Belin-Blank Center will provide an automatic tuition scholarship (50% of graduate tuition) to those who enroll. Requirements include completion of a project exploring identification policies including the CogAT.
